Celebrate 50 Years of Reason

Fifty years ago, Reason magazine was launched by Lanny Friedlander, a student at Boston University who used his spare time to design, write, and organize a new sort of magazine that he wanted to read. Something that promised “Proof, not belligerent assertion. Logic, not legends. Coherence [sic], not contradictions. This is our promise: this is the reason for REASON.”

Of course, a lot has changed in fifty years. What did Reason get right? What did we get wrong—and why? You are cordially invited to join Reason editor’s panel for an evening of conversation, laughter, and an insightful look back at the modern libertarian movement from the perspective of three of the sharpest observers of the scene.

“50 Years of Reason,” featuring Reason editors Katherine Mangu-Ward, Nick Gillespie, and Matt Welch
